After touring the U.S. as an award-winning singer-songwriter/guitarist for 10 years, my husband politely asked me to get a job. Luckily, I had a degree in marketing communications to fall back on (you know, just in case The E Street Band didn't call), so I figured
'Why not?'
I started out doing new product launches, videos, and sales meetings for a small marketing agency, and soon went to work for Hyperion Software. In addition to overseeing the production of print collateral and handling logistics for corporate events, I was responsible for managing the company's conference web sites. That's where things got interesting for me—coordinating work across different teams, coming up with interactive solutions…it rocked! I read everything on information architecture and web site production I could find and, in 2000, joined Hyperion's Web Technologies group as a project manager.
From there I went to Ryan iDirect as an interactive producer, working on dozens of site and application projects, and honing my skills as a project manager, user experience designer and copywriter.
Nowadays, I bring all of that to Gabardine while playing lead guitar and vocals in the company band that Keith & Peter are unaware is forming right under their noses.
